Voices. They are everywhere: rehearsed voices on television suggesting nugatory products, young voices whispering in the sanctuary of a backyard treehouse, and chattering voices on subways by those heading to monotonous nine-to-five jobs. Voices can even be heard from within, forming unbearable self-doubt or encouraging personal growth. 

With our voices, we can communicate our judgments, likes, dislikes, and feelings. But more than that, with our voices we can demand change and action in an ever-changing world. It is important that we ask ourselves: Will we let these voices speak, or allow social constructs to muffle them forevermore?

Bettering the world is a process of evolution, the changes done deliberately and ethically that create societal impact. Protests, advocacy, and ultimately taking action to make these changes contribute to the important and evolutionary process of bettering the world. At Young Voices for Change, it is our goal to create a space for such change. By bringing together and developing young activists and writers, we can make and inspire institutional impact, and amplify the voices of those often unheard.
