National Banned Book Week Book Drive
In honor of National Banned Book Week in Florida, we proudly hosted a book drive event to honor the freedom of literature. Participants had two convenient ways to contribute: by dropping off book donations in person or by messaging us for a designated delivery address. Additionally, we curated a special Amazon wishlist featuring banned books, allowing supporters to purchase and send books directly to us.
Mini Neighborhood Libraries
In a heartwarming twist, all the donated books from our book drive found new homes in mini neighborhood libraries across Jacksonville. Collaborating with 904WARD, we extended our reach by utilizing their "Little Free Diverse Libraries." These libraries, adorned with stunning illustrations created by local artists, became the vessels for sharing the joy of reading throughout our community.
Success and Gratitude
Thanks to the generosity of our community, we gathered an impressive collection of books valued at over $1000. A group of YVC met and distributed these books to mini libraries scattered across Jacksonville. We express gratitude to our donors and the dedicated members of YVC whose support and hard work made this achievement possible!
